Carter
and Bearden the Series
Carter and Bearden have met on
the gridiron a total of 18 times with the Hornets
holding a slim 9-8-1 lead. The Bulldogs and Hornets
first met in 1949 with the Big Green notching
a 12-6 victory. The Series started in 1949 and
ended in 1955, then the game was renewed in 1983
and the Hornets played the Bulldogs from 1983
until 1992. The Bulldogs have won 5 in a row including
last year's 38-0 victory at Carter.

on Bearden
The
Bulldogs lost 25 seniors from last seasons team,
that finished with an appearance in the State
5A semifinals. However Bearden is one of the largest
schools in the state with a student population
of 1,861. Bearden High School recieves students
from Cedar Bluff, Bearden and West Valley Middle
Schools. Bearden is located at 8352 Kingston Pike
easily accessible from the Walker Springs/Gallaher
View exit on I-40.

Roach Two Sport Star Picks Maryville College |

Baseball - March 26, 2008
Ryan Roach has committed to continue his education,
football, and baseball careers at Maryville College
in Maryville, Tenn.
The son of Stacey and Sheila Roach
from Knoxville, TN, Ryan was a standout on both the
football field and baseball diamond for the Hornets
of Carter High School. As a wide-receiver this past
fall, Ryan caught 35 passes for 836 yards and scored
11 touchdowns. Which earned him an All-Region selection.
Roach also excels as an outfielder for Carter. As a
junior in the spring of '07, Ryan hit at a clip of .413
with 11 doubles, three homeruns, and 16 stolen bases.
Ryan was an All-District selection and the team's offensive
MVP...
